Florence Scovel Shinn (1871-1940) was an American illustrator, New Thought teacher and author best known for The Game of Life and How to Play It. After failing to secure a publisher, she self-published the book in 1925. Her teachings emphasize the spoken word, affirmations, expectation, nonresistance, prosperity, intuition and “Divine Design.” More than a century later, her work remains actively republished and widely read.
